Honestly, I just want to direct a music video for Coldplay before I die. And write a few books about my first love.

Obsessed with capturing everything I fear losing someday.
I've had the pleasure of working with Abodid on various commissioned and collaborative video projects. I've always been inspired by Abodid's innovative and creative approach to how he brings life to every assignment. His work is meticulous, thorough and thoughtful; a quality that I highly appreciate.

We've worked closely on several video projects for Pursuit of Portraits. Abodid has not only created stellar videos but has always elevated the brand voice, visual storytelling and overall look and feel! I recommend Abodid for any and all creative pursuits! If there's a hunch about direction, great aesthetic and delivery time-crunch, Abodid gets it!

"Abodid and his team have literally been a breath of fresh air to work with. From the very beginning, Abodid sent a personal video of him breaking down the budget options and rates. This made it so easy to decide on the style of the video I wanted. He and his team were so professional and they stayed in communication giving me updates. My lyric video turned out to be so awesome and I am so happy with it. I will definitely be working with Abodid again.”

Abodid's thoughtful and innovative approach towards producing the brand film for Hermosa was highly professional. From creating the perfect visual references to helping the entire team envision the intricacies of the project to leading a skilled and proactive film crew; Abodid made sure the visual storytelling of the film was aptly aligned to the brand's voice. I look forward to working with him again and recommend him to anyone seeking a dedicated and creative mind on board.

Why did you drop out of National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad?
It's difficult to put the whole story in just a few lines here. But to keep it short, I had feelings for a close friend of mine in NID. After her honest admission of not having similar feelings, I had a tough time dealing with the situatiuon. My physical and mental health was affected heavily, to the point of being borderline depressed. That phase of loss, heartbreak and grief was excruciatingly painful for me. It was not just about love, and heartbreak. It had so many complex layers to it. A lot of my insecurities, fear and abandonment issues surfaced.

There was no point of me mulling over it in Ahmedabad with a deteriorating mental health. Seeking a fresh start, I took a leap of faith and applied for RCA, where I was offered a full tuition scholarship by Apple. London helped me heal to quite an extent. I worked on a project in RCA themed around love, death and everything in between. That helped me immensely. You can go through the project in my website "www.abodid.com". It has a very detailed account of everything.

Tell us more about the Apple Scholarship!!
Husssshhh!! I was not supposed to talk about it over social media. Someone close to me once told me, "Keep it to yourself." I stitched my mouth after that for the whole year. But now that the course is over, I can safely brag here about it.

The scholarship covered the entirety of the tuition fees of RCA, valuing £28,000. It allowed me to use my education loan to pursue my experiences in London to the fullest. From visiting some amazing art and design galleries to attending my favourite music concerts, I was able to experience the best of art, culture and food.

Also, I printed photographs like a king for my project!!! Thank you Apple. Super grateful. <3

Do you plan to settle in UK or come back India?
I would love to work for a few years in London, and other cities like Newyork, Dubai, Paris, etc. I would love to explore the music video, and filmmaking space and create films for my favourite music bands. I would like to keep creating art through my preferred medium of phototography, writing and moving images, and exhibit them in galleries across the world.

In the mean time, I gotta be clearing off my bank loan, and plan up to open an art residency and a library in India. If you are an architect/ interior designer, or a real estate investor, keen on building an off-grid eco-freindly healing space made of sustainable materials, let's talk!

What do you actually do?
Even I don't know. Somedays I binge read a lot of stuff, trying to figurre out how to create an amazing curated weekly newsletter. And other days I am out with my camera shooting the streets and capuring life.

Earlier I used to dance and play music. May be I should get back. As of now, I prefer solo strolls in the warm sunshine, cooking, and browsing my own photo archive to bask in nostlagia and hopefully publish some intimate photobooks in due time.
